Fees & Rebates
Remember, a psychology session is an investment; it is not just an expense.
At Psych Connect, we believe in offering affordable and effective mental health care to our clients. The Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Suggested Fees for 2025–2026 recommends a fee of $318 for a standard 46–60 minute psychological consultation. Our fees remain below the APS recommended rate, reflecting our commitment to providing accessible and affordable psychological services.
Medicare rebates
You will need a referral (Mental Health Care Plan-MHCP) from your GP (or a psychiatrist or paediatrician) to receive Medicare rebates. Clients are entitled to a Medicare Rebate for a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year.

Please note that having a mental health care plan DOES NOT mean your sessions will be bulk billed.
Third Party Payment Plans
MediPay is a payment provider offering tailored financing for medical treatments. Patients can apply for pre-approved funding directly through the MediPay platform, subject to eligibility and credit assessment. If approved, treatment costs are paid directly to the clinic and repaid in instalments by the patient over an agreed period. This option may suit patients requiring more extensive treatment who prefer to spread payments over time. All applications are managed independently via MediPay.

Please be advised that our fee schedule will be updated effective 1 July 2026. We are notifying clients ahead of time to ensure transparency and to provide an opportunity to review the changes and seek clarification if required.

Please note that Medicare does not currently provide rebates for couples therapy, and cognitive assessments. If you are not eligible for rebates from Medicare and you hold a private health insurance, you can check with your health insurer about your psychology sessions.

Note: The cost table serves as a guide (as of July 2026, the hourly assessment rate is $230 and is subject to change). Assessment content and estimated fees may vary based on individual circumstances, and some assessors may charge above the standard hourly rate. Clients will be notified in advance of any changes.

| DVA | If you are a current or former member of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and hold White or Gold Card you are entitled to certain benefits, including psychological treatment for mental health conditions. Some limits may apply for White card holders (please contact DVA to check your entitlements). To claim DVA benefits, you require a referral from your GP to your psychologist. |

Payment for each consultation is required on the day of your appointment. We accept most major credit cards and provide EFTPOS facilities through the HICAP terminal for your convenience. Please bring a bank card so your Medicare Rebate can be deposited into your nominated account Cancellation.

Cancellation and Non-Attendance Policy
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. If you are unable to attend, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice so the time can be offered to another client, including those on our waiting list.
A $50 fee applies for cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice. The full session fee will be charged for late cancellation or missed appointments without notice (non-attendance), regardless of the reason. Appointment reminders are sent via text message; please ensure you confirm your appointment within 48 hours, otherwise it may be cancelled and offered to another client.
Repeated cancellations or missed appointments can affect the continuity of your care and limit availability for others. If this occurs (e.g., 2 times within a short period), we will review your appointments and may discuss any barriers to attendance.
If cancellations or non-attendance continue, we may pause or discontinue offering further sessions at this time. This will be communicated respectfully, and where appropriate, options for alternative support or re-engagement at a later stage can be discussed.
This policy is designed to support consistent, effective care and fair access to services for all clients, in line with professional and ethical guidelines.
